Jasmine G. Crawshaw has written stories in many different genres, particularly in fantasy, science fiction and horror. She has also written children's stories for which she is known as Georgina J. Jasmine G. Crawshaw, also known as Georgina J. Murray, was born in Canada on July 2001. As a child she loved reading and writing stories, and devoured works from numerous authors including but not limited to Edgar Allan Poe, Roald Dahl, Neil Gaiman, Ursula K. Le Guin, J.R.R. Tolkien, Harlan Ellison, C.S. Lewis, Issac Asimov and many more. It was through reading, and the writing workshops she took throughout school, that she knew that writing was what she had always wanted to do with her life.
In 2020, she enrolled in McMaster University, graduating with a Honours BA in English and Cultural Studies in 2023. As of 2024, she is completing her English MA degree, and will be working towards completing her History MA degree in 2025. During that time, she has enrolled in several creative writing classes, becoming one of the first people to graduate from her school’s newly enlisted Concurrent Certificate of Narrative Arts. She was also heavily engaged in theatre and music during this time. She wrote three plays for McMaster’s theatre club MacOneAct, and composed/arranged two songs for different plays. She also participated in a theatre production as a music composer, allowing her to develop a strong passion in utilizing music to tell stories. She primarily utilizes the softwares MuseScore and LogicPro for her composition.
Jasmine G. Crawshaw has written a large plethora of stories, ranging from sci-fi, fantasy, horror to children’s works. She draws from several cultural and historical sources for inspiration, including mythologies. Due to this, there is something for everyone to discover and enjoy. This diversity ranges also to her plays, as well as her music, exploring several instruments and genres from both world music and electronic. There is a lot of stuff to come, so stay tuned for more!
